Extraction Description : Oil is extracted from its leaves by slow steam distillation.

Scent Description : The aroma is like a mild version of Rosemary. Related to Bay laurel

 

General Description

Ravensara Essential Oil. Ravinameans leaf and tsara means good in Madagascar where Ravensara originates. An extremely useful oil which has often been over looked. A very gentle oil, excellent to use on a vaporiser and with a carrier oil for massage with the elderly and children. A must for the First aid cabinet. Useful during the winter, if feeling a little under the weather a few drops in the bath with Tea Tree and lavender may help. Use in Massage, baths and inhalations. Useful in stressful situations.

 

 

 

All parts of this tree are aromatic and the local people have used it since time immemorial. In the 18th Century, Baume distilled an oil from its bark.
